How to get into pharmaceutical sales

Here’s a secret I always give pharmaceutical sales job seekers when updating their resume…

I’ve reviewed thousands of pharma sales resumes. The ones that land interviews all have one thing in common. They show impact.

Not job duties.

Not responsibilities.

Not a copy & paste from ChatGPT.

Your resume is the ticket to the dance.

Listing your job duties won’t cut it.

Here’s how to construct an impactful pharma sales resume:

#1 Start with a power word.

Achieved. Launched. Grew. Rebuilt. Closed. Led.

Not “responsible for.”

#2 Add a number.

Dollar amount. Percentage. Ranking. Quota attainment.

If it can be measured, measure it.

#3 Show the outcome.

What changed because of you?

More revenue, better retention, new accounts, faster cycle time?

#4 Make it relevant.

Every bullet should speak directly to the role you want.

If it doesn’t, cut it.

Your resume is not a job description.

It is a sales deck. And you are the product.

If the hiring manager can read your resume and immediately understand why you’re the answer to their territory problems, you win the interview.

Quick question.
