Dietitian to “Aspiring” Medical Sales Rep
Brittany works in Healthcare.
As a dietitian with a knack for building relationships, Medical Sales seemed like a natural next step.
It had all the ingredients she wanted: a lucrative career, a chance to make a real difference in healthcare, and an opportunity to leverage her existing skills.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝟏𝟒 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐢𝐧, 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 “𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠” 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬.
She landed a handful of interviews. Yet, no matter how well she believed she had performed, the emails were always the same: “We’ve decided to move forward with another candidate.”
Initially, Brittany shrugged it off—“Maybe it’s just the competition,” she thought. But as rejections piled up, frustration set in.
She started questioning everything. Was her dietitian experience relevant? What was she doing wrong?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭:
Brittany believed she was acing her interviews.
In reality, she didn’t fully understand what hiring managers were looking for in a medical sales rep. And because Brittany didn’t know the true demands of the job, she struggled to communicate her value effectively.
Brittany felt lost.
She wanted to transition into medical sales, but had no idea how to course-correct. How could she fix problems she didn’t even recognize?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲:
Brittany’s story is not uncommon.
There are hundreds of Brittany stories in my LinkedIn DMs.

🎯 What medical sales reps truly do. Beyond selling products, they educate physicians, manage territories, and solve clinical problems.
🎯 How to articulate your value in interviews. It’s not about your resume—it’s about showcasing specific examples of how your past experience solves their problems.
🎯 When to accept feedback and adjust. Lack of self-awareness is a major blind spot in job searches, especially for professionals changing industries.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲:
If you’re stuck, don’t let pride or frustration hold you back.
Acknowledge your gaps, ask for feedback, and learn from experts in the field.
With the right adjustments, what feels impossible today could be reality in 90 days.
The journey isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. Just ask the 585 professionals I’ve helped make this transition.
They once felt exactly like Brittany, and now, they’re thriving in Medical Sales.
𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧!
